Responsible Gambling
At Joe Fortune Pokies Guide, we are committed to promoting safe and responsible gambling. While online pokies and casino games can be a fun form of entertainment, it is important to recognise when gambling is no longer enjoyable or is causing harm.
Gamble Responsibly
Responsible gambling means making informed choices and keeping gambling within healthy limits. Here are key principles to follow:
- Only gamble with money you can afford to lose.
- Set a budget before you start and stick to it.
- Never chase losses – accept them as the cost of entertainment.
- Set time limits for your gambling sessions.
- Never gamble under the influence of alcohol or when emotionally distressed.
- Treat gambling as entertainment, not a way to make money.
- Take regular breaks and do not play for extended periods.
Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
Problem gambling can affect anyone. Watch out for these warning signs in yourself or others:
- Spending more money on gambling than you intended.
- Borrowing money or selling possessions to fund gambling.
- Lying to family or friends about gambling habits.
- Neglecting work, study, or family responsibilities due to gambling.
- Feeling anxious, irritable, or depressed when not gambling.
- Repeatedly trying and failing to cut back on gambling.
- Gambling to escape personal problems or negative emotions.
