Wright-Phillips confused as Chelsea not to keep Kepa.

Former midfielder Shaun Wright-Phillips has revealed his admiration for Kepa Arrizabalaga. And believes Chelsea do not need to spend lavishly on a new goalkeeper.

The Spanish goalkeeper is out of favour with Enzo Maresca, with Arsenal reportedly willing to pay just £5m for him, while the Blues are reportedly keen on AC Milan’s Mike Maignan.  ทางเข้า UFABET

Wright-Phillips admits he doesn’t understand why Chelsea aren’t considering keeping Kepa despite his impressive loan spell at Bournemouth last season.

“I’m confused, I don’t get it,” Wright-Phillips said. “It seems like nobody has seen Kepa this season. He’s been brilliant. He’s part of the reason why Bournemouth have finished the season like they have.”

“The defence was excellent but Kepa was incredible as well. I think so. I think as the season goes on Chelsea don’t need to buy a new goalkeeper because Kepa will be back. But that’s not the case.”

“You can have as good a goalkeeper as you want, but if you keep making the same mistakes in defence, your goalkeeper will concede goals. That’s just the facts. Alisson makes some great saves when he needs to. Half of his saves are not forced mistakes.”

“So if Chelsea can manage their defence without the goalkeeper having to make unreasonable saves, I think Kepa is the one you have to keep. You don’t have to look elsewhere. Most managers are looking for goalkeepers with good feet now. I think Kepa is good with his feet but he’s not at the level that managers want.”

“But for me, it’s really strange.”
