Yuma, Arizona

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM……what is that giant fireball in the sky…..been so long I don’t recognize it.

In 6 days of driving I arrived in Yuma, Arizona yesterday.  I was absolutely exhausted but that didn’t stop me from spending the morning in Quartzsite, Arizona where I purchased about $20.00 worth of findings so I can continue my crafting.  I also arrived in time to rest for a bit before dropping a few bucks at bingo.   (The $20.00 worth of findings would have been WAY OVER $50.00 in Canada)

The trip itself was plagued to rain, rain and more rain.  Since it was spitting in Grant’s Pass, Oregon I decided I was too chicken to go over the Siskiyous and Mount Shasta so I drove 200 miles farther and went out to the coast.  When I arrived in Sacramento I discovered that my nephew would be back at work on Monday – the day I would arrive – so we decided that my visit should be on my way back to Canada.  Took the wind out of my sails but decided that it would be a great day not to move for the day.  Ended up getting a little more sleep which was needed.  From Frazier Park one of the truckers told me it was about 200 miles to the Arizona border so I took off early  morning and discovered that it was over 300 miles.  I stayed at the Flying J just over the California/Arizona border and it was the first time I saw diesel fuel under $4.00 a gallon)  Then on to Yuma the next day.  Stopped for lunch and checked into the campground

Very happy and very grateful to be in Yuma and settled.  I have been invited to JoEllen’s place (a friend and fellow vendor) for Thanksgiving dinner.  Weather update…….absolutely GORGEOUS.

Out today trying to book craft shows for the month of December – not having much luck – everything booked.  I’ll probably get a few of the smaller craft shows but that’s okay too.  Need groceries and wine before I head back to the campground later this morning.

Happy (US) Thanksgiving everyone.  Joei
