Smithers Update

Well, I’ve now been in Smithers about two weeks and I’m surprised that I have any unblemished flesh left…..I am slowly being chewed alive.  Mosquitos are drawing lots of blood and no-see-ums will be leaving scars.  It has been raining lots.  It has been misting lots and the few times that the sun has come out it is hot, humid and not pleasant…..I’m definitely NOT enjoying it so far.  Book sales are way down.  Bookmark sales have been surprising – everyone who sees them buys at least one – an excellent sign.  Besides I’m really enjoying the beading aspect.  Haven’t taken many pictures but I already have a bunch and had about 40 bookmarks laminated so I’m on my way.

I have arranged for a booksigning at SpeeDee Stationery here in Smithers, BC for Saturday, July 23 from noon to about 4:00 P.M..  They are also allowing me to sell my bookmarks.  I’ll decide what I want to do after that.  If the rain continues and the book sales are down the sink hole I might as well pack up and head back to Surrey and my comfy home with lots of room to spread out, good friends with places to go and things to do and, of course, television.   I have decided that I’m not into torturing myself longer than I have to.  I can always find a few camping rallies to head for and enjoy the rest of the summer.

I have also been working on my newest Mini Read about Greece and it is still coming out well.  I’m anxious to let my writing group read it.  More updates in the near  future.  Joei
