Half Way Through the Month

So far it has been a jammed packed month and we are only half-way through it.

The new writer’s group that my friend David and I started had its first meeting with four happy participants and we have a couple more people coming to this next meeting.  We would like to keep it to about 8 or 9 people so everyone can read and critique.

Next Thursday is my last memoir-writing teaching assignment for this contract and we have one person signed up for the next contract that will run for 4 weeks. I’m definitely enjoying the teaching and in this currently class there are some wonderful life stories being told.

My friend Edith and I have been on a weekly lunch and picture taking hunt for the last month or so. We had been to a couple of parks – one in White Rock and one in Whalley – and last week we went to the T&T market and all through the shopping center.  Great adventures and have taken some wonderful shots. So far my favorites have been of an airplane (in the sky) against black clouds. Looks almost black-and-white.

I’m moving right along with my next mini read about my travels to and through Morocco. Almost finished my draft and then the fun starts – the editing.

Had a busy couple of days. Last Thursday lectured at 7:00 in the morning in Maple Ridge to a woman’s group. Even though it had been a while since I told my “Adventures in World Travel” story it went very well. From there I went to my memoir-writing class and by the time I arrived home I was as sick as a dog. Spent the next 2 days sleeping  (on and off) most of the days.  Today I have a booksigning in North Vancouver and I’m not sure I should be going but I backed out the last time because of my move and exhaustion and I’m not sure I should be doing it again.  One loses their good name very quickly in any business so I’ll go even if it’s just for a few hours.  If anyone hears me cough they’ll be happy to see me leave.

The rest of the month should be equally as full and I’m waiting for my invitation on a Farm Tour for June 2nd so it’ll start off next month on a high note.   Joei
